New Year’s Renewal for Healing the Whole Life: Ren Yuan and Qi Healing Therapy

Mondays, January 2 – February 13, 7:30-8:45pm **No Class MLK Day, 1/16**

Berkeley Yoga Center, 1250 Addison St (at Bonar), Berkeley, CA, Studio 209

Early-Bird Discount until Wednesday, December 28: $75 for six classes

Start the year in the right way, right away! Reconnect to the source of life. Return to right relationship. Channel the energy of the universe through your being, and heal your body and mind.

With Yuan Gong Qigong, Qi Therapy, and the teachings of Ren Xue, this series (six classes) will offer a rich opportunity to turn the bright energy of winter toward the inception of uplifting patterns and a transformational year.

About the method: Yuan Gong is a deeply nourishing Qigong style that uses simple and fluid movements to unlock the mind, draw Qi from the universe, and promote the healthy flow of Qi in the body. Its Third Method, Ren Yuan, is particularly active and focuses on breaking up Qi blockages and systematically transforming the body's patterns.

Students will also receive and learn several Qi Therapy techniques, as well as engage the special mind activity and Xin Fa, or teaching transmission, which accompanies these practices and brings healing and awareness to deeper levels. Keys concepts to be explored include the unification of Shen (consciousness) and Qi (energy), working with Qifields, cultivation of the 5 Xin Heart Qualities, and learning to transform patterns. Each class balances Qigong practice, internal reflection, and sharing with others.

This class is well-suited for both beginners and ongoing students. No prior experience needed. For those who have studied with Gabe before, there will be opportunities to continue going deeper in your practice.

Details: Cost: early bird discount until Wednesday, December 28, $75 for entire series; after December 28, $95 for entire series if pre-registered; $18-$20 sliding scale for drop-ins. Payment options and sliding scale available with demonstrated need. Drop-ins welcome.

Healing from the Inside Out: A Journey Toward Winter

Mondays, December 5, December 12, December 19, 7:30-8:45pm

Berkeley Yoga Center, 1250 Addison St, Berkeley, CA, Studio 209

Early-Bird Discount until Monday, November 28: $42.50 for all three classes!

In this time of increasing darkness and confusion, it is more important than ever to hold the whole with awareness, presence, embodiment and love. For those seriously interested in making a difference in the world, it is essential to practice unifying internal and so-called external realms, and to work for change from the inside out. As the days shorten and winter approaches, this short series will offer a deep dive into an exploration of self, nature, and the essence of healing, drawing on the resource of Qigong and the timeless teachings of Ren Xue.

This series will include Qigong practice and group Qi healings, or energy work. Participants will learn how to tune in and work positively with their own Qi and the wider Qifield, as well as how to begin unifying their consciousness with Qi. By connecting with Xin (heart) qualities and qigong practice, and through unifying Jing (body), Qi (energy) and Shen (consciousness), participants will become equipped with the tools that can support themselves and others to heal and grow. This process may also help to provide insight into how we can best make a positive impact in the world, and we will discuss how as practitioners we can be agents of heart awareness and positive change in our relationships, communities and greater society.

Details: Cost: early bird discount until Monday, November 28, 42.50 for entire series; after November 28, $52.50 for entire series if pre-registered; $18-$20 sliding scale for drop-ins. Payment options and sliding scale available on a case-by-case basis. NO ONE TURNED AWAY FOR LACK OF FUNDS. **This class is taught as a series, with drop-ins welcome. For the greatest benefit, as well as best price options, you are encouraged to sign up for the entire course.** No prior experience necessary. All levels are welcome.

Connecting through Qigong: A Three Class Mini-Series

Thursdays, September 15, September 29, October 13 5:30-6:45pm

Berkeley Yoga Center, 1250 Addison St, Berkeley, CA, Studio 209

Are you stressed? Dealing with low energy levels? Feeling scattered? It's natural with our busy lives. Unfortunately, these patterns can also lead to short- and long-term problems on many different levels of life, from physical illness, to strains in our relationships, to a sense of confusion or apathy in life. While easily forgotten, health and well-being are the foundation for everything else in our lives.

If this speaks to you, now may be the perfect time to try something new: nourish and uplift your energy through the ancient, mind-body practice of Qigong. Qigong is an energy artform from ancient China that helps culivate Qi, the life-force energy that pemeates the universe.

In this three week series, students will have the opportunity to dive into the practice of Yuan Gong, a wonderful qigong style that promotes mind-body unification, increases energy, breaks up energy blockages, and helps illuminate and transform the patterns that govern our lives. Qigong is very beneficial for physical health as well as mental energy, and this is a great way to get started in a simple practice that can change your life!

Students can register for the entire series or drop in for a single class. Cost: $35 for entire series if pre-registered; $15-$20 sliding scale for drop-in. This is a great primer for those interested in studying qigong in more depth, as Gabe will teach weekly at Berkeley Yoga Center, beginning Monday, October 24. For questions, email gabriel.crane@gmail.com.
